Sir Nicholas Shehadie will be farewelled on Wednesday.

A memorial service will be held at St James’ Church on King Street at 10am.

The former Lord Mayor of Sydney and president of the Australian Rugby Union passed away last week.

Labor Party historian and former Minister Rodney Cavalier tells Alan Jones Sir Nicholas’ story is a wonderful one.

“If you had to summarise him in three words, you’d say: loyalty, courtesy, competence.

“And then you’d keep going for another 200,000 words.”
