Mobile phone bans are making their way into a number of Sydney schools in an effort to decrease behavioural issues.

Psychiatrist Tanveer Ahmed told Ben Fordham mobile phone usage needs to be restricted.

He says children from the ages of 11 to 14 would benefit most from mobile phone restrictions.

“We want kids to be empowered by technology, not slaves to it.

“Bans actually … reduce the gap between high achieving and low achieving students.”
