‘Short-sighted’ – What the demolition of Liddell power station shows
Michael McLaren has called out the lack of foresight following the demolition of the old Liddell power station at a time of global instability and reliance on coal and gas.
He says that continuing the push to renewables by demolishing Australia’s refinery capacity and coal generators is a major mistake, including with renewables proving not to be as cheap as the government claimed.
“Let’s hope the modelling that shows we’re on the right path with this transition isn’t equally flawed,” he said.
