Shadow Treasurer believes Berejiklian wouldn’t rip up union enterprise agreement

Shadow Treasurer Daniel Mookhey believes the government threatening to rip up the enterprise agreement with the union is something former premier Gladys Berejiklian wouldn’t have wanted.

The long-running dispute between the government and rail union is looking like it will head to the Fair Work Commission.

Mr Mookhey told Jim Wilson the “very aggressive tactic” isn’t practical.

“I would hate to think that the government is threatening to rip up this enterprise agreement … just because they’re not prepared to sign a piece of paper,” he said.

“I actually think that is not something Gladys Berejiklian wouldn’t have done.

“I would like to think the government would have the maturity here and not make things worse.”
