The NSW Police Force Marine Area Command has officially commissioned seven new vessels which will replace their current patrol boats.

The new vessels are part of a commitment to provide safer waterways and allow for medical evacuations at sea and the boarding of suspicious vessels entering Australia.

Police and Emergency Services Minister David Elliott tells Luke Grant they will be visible this summer.

“They are essentially a police station on water.

“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to commission them now.”
