Silverton Hotel publicans Peter and Patsy Price are encouraging Sydneysiders to take a road trip out to their historic Outback town.

The former silver mining town, 20 minutes from Broken Hill, is famous on the silver screen as a filming location for Razorback, Mission Impossible II, the Mad Max franchise and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Mr Price told Jim Wilson there’s plenty happening out west in the coming months.

“We’ve got a lot of history here, and a lot of lovely things to see on the way out this way.

“We’ve got Mad Max, the latest edition being filmed out here … it’s going to be a big year next year.”
