Senior Channel Seven reporter Josh Massoud has been suspended after being accused of graphic and violent threats to a junior staff member.

The Sydney-based rugby league journalist allegedly threatened a 21-year-old reporter based at one of Channel 7’s regional Queensland offices.

It’s believed the junior staffer accidentally missed an embargo on a story Massoud had been about to break.

It’s alleged Massoud phoned the man and launched into a vicious tirade, threating to slit the man’s throat.

There are more details about the alleged threat that are too graphic to publish.

Seven News Sydney Director Jason Morrison met with Massoud and his lawyers alongside Channel 7’s human resources team.
