Political commentators have condemned Queensland senator Fraser Anning’s comments after the Christchurch shootings.

Senator Anning released a statement linking the terrorist attack, that killed 50 people in Christchurch, to immigration.

Former Labor Senator Graham Richardson tells Ben Fordham Senator Anning is a “disgrace to the parliament”.

“I wish there was a little bit more rigour in the way they check people.

“I don’t think people like this should ever get near a parliament.”

Peta Credlin agrees, telling Ben Fordham people need to vote carefully in the upcoming elections.

“He and other ratbags get elected by people who think it’s fun to play with their vote.

“It’s not a joke… please be careful where you put that vote.”
