A search and rescue operation is continuing this morning for a popular jockey, who went missing on the Gold Coast during late-night ocean swim. 

Chris Caserta reportedly entered the water off Surfers Paradise with a trackwork rider just after 10pm.

Bystanders noticed the pair struggling in the water and managed to pull the trackwork rider from the surf.

Caserta has not been seen since.
