Scott Morrison responds to ‘distressing’ egging attack

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has responded after a woman allegedly tried to ‘egg’ him at a conference in Albury.

A 24-year-old woman has been charged for trying to smash an egg on the PM’s head as he attended a Country Women’s Association conference.

But Scott Morrison tells Ben Fordham the most distressing thing was seeing a 70-year-old woman being knocked to the ground during the scuffle.

“She was a more elderly lady and there were quite a number of them around me, and I thought this individual showed a real disregard of others.

“People think ‘oh, I feel strongly about issues so I can do whatever I want.’ Well, no, you can’t actually.”

But the Prime Minister was in good spirits as he joked with Ben about the incident

Scott Morrison: “She brought a six-pack of eggs, I reckon the ladies from the CWA could’ve taught her how to put them to better use.”

Ben Fordham: “Well you’re lucky, it could’ve hit you in the scone, it could’ve been worse!”
