Schools are back as NSW sees first day of mobile phone BAN

Article image for Schools are back as NSW sees first day of mobile phone BAN

Mobile phones will be nowhere in sight in New South Wales schools, as high schools join primary schools in banning students from using their phones during school hours.

The ban intends to increase student performance and stop teenagers from using what has become another appendage. Killara High School Principal Robin Chand spoke to Deb Knight about the ban which had previously already been in place at his school.

Schools will be able to choose how they enforce the ban, with some schools opting for lockers to store phones away from pupils.
