A school bus driver has been granted bail after allegedly sexually abusing a young student in the New South Wales Central West.

In April 2019, detectives from the Child Abuse Squad began investigating reports an 11-year-old girl had been sexually touched by the driver.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 67-year-old man in Orange yesterday morning.

He’s been charged with intentionally sexually touch a child between 10 and 16-years-old.

Police will allege in court the man sexually touched the girl in April last year, while she was a passenger on the school bus.

He’s been granted strict conditional bail to appear at Orange Local Court in March.

Investigations are continuing.
