Graham Annesley and Ray Hadley delved into the progression of NRL throughout the years ahead of tonight’s State of Origin.

The two discussed technology, safety and referee decisions.

Annesley explained: “Unless we get to the point where artificial intelligence is making decisions for us, where we can remove humans, there is someone sitting in front of a screen and they [are] putting their own interpretation on what they see”.

Speaking about the evolution of safety measures, he stated: “The game is chalk and cheese in that regard”.
