We love it when everyday Sydneysiders step up to do extraordinary things for a great cause!
Lachie Butler is a young bloke from the Eastern Suburbs who is about to push his body to the absolute limit.
He’s 22, he’s a UTS student, and starting tomorrow, he’s taking on a brutal challenge.
He’s running 250 kilometres over 5 consecutive days. That’s 50 kilometres a day—all around Sydney, from Narrabeen on the Northern Beaches to the Bay Run in the Inner West.
Last year, Lachie raised more than $44,000 running 100 kilometres on a tiny athletic track.
This year, he’s going bigger, and it’s deeply personal. He’s running for his mum, Pip, who is a breast cancer survivor, and his grandmother, who is currently fighting Stage 4 cancer.
Every cent Lachie raises is going to the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation to buy specialised equipment for hospitals that need it.
