Rugby League player’s Father’s Day surprise
Rugby League player Maika Sivo had the ultimate surprise when his Fijian father travelled to Australia to watch him play for the very first time.
The NRL teamed up with VB for Fathers Day to bring the Parramatta Eels player’s father from Fiji.
Sivo came to Australia in 2015, having never played rugby league, but he is now one of the NRL’s highest try-scorers.

NRL CEO Todd Greenberg tells Ben Fordham it’s a great example of how sports can make a difference in people’s lives.
“We’ve got a number of our players who come from the Pacific and they’re forging unbelievably strong careers in the game.
“It’s a really nice reminder of some of the good things we can do.”
