The 2025 Rugby League World Cup will no longer be held in France, following a shock decision.

The French government have decided against funding the tournament so heavily, resulting in a withdrawal of the country as hosts.

International Rugby League Board Independent Chairman said he was ‘gutted’ by the decision.
