Passengers of the infamous Ruby Princess cruise ship have marked a historic win with the world’s first successful cruise COVID-19 class action.

The 2020 Ruby Princess debacle, where passengers faced a COVID-19 nightmare at sea, culminated in a groundbreaking victory as the court found the cruise line negligent and deceptive.

The aftermath of the voyage was devastating: 28 deaths and over 600 infections, a tragedy underscored by the cruise company’s failure in duty of care.

Deborah spoke with Vicky Antzoulatos, Shine Lawyers Joint Head of Class Actions, who led the case and then took a call from one of the passengers who was on board, Tracy Temple.
