After canning his Deplorable’s segment, Chris welcomes in Smithy’s All-Stars with his first guest, Rowan Dean.

The pair discuss the Prime Minister’s major defence announcement of a $3.8 billion Defence Export Facility to assist companies wanting to find overseas defence markets.

The Prime Minister says Australia aims to be one of the top 10 defence exporters.

“It’s a worthwhile aim,” says Rowan.

“There’s nothing wrong with the government spending money to encourage manufacturing.

“[But] it’s highly unlikely we’ll ever be able to sell the goods that come at the end of this process.

“It’s a great goal, but those products have to be internationally competitive.”
