British rock idol Sir Rod Stewart has revealed his Australian tour will be all about creating memories for long time fans.

The singer told Deborah Knight this will be the last time he will be touring this part of the world.

“It can’t go on forever. I’ve had a really good run, I have been a musician since I was 19 years old.

“I don’t want to be singing Hot Legs when I’m 80!”

The rock legend will also be joined by special guest Cyndi Lauper, who he described as a joy to work with.

“Cyndi is one of my favourite girls to perform with, she’s so much fun.”

With many fans eager to know what they can expect at his shows, Sir Rod Stewart says he knows people want to hear the songs they pay money for.

“Music is about nostalgia and it brings back memories, that is what’s lovely about the music we make.

“It’s all about connecting people together in these hard times.”

General public tickets go on sale on Thursday, November 17.
