Protesters lying on the road at Sylvania in Sydney’s south have been removed by police.

They were on the Princes Highway approaching Tom Uglys Bridge.

Roads Minister Natalie Ward likened the group to “terrorists” while on the Breakfast show.

State Parliament is being forced to sit for an extra day to try to pass legislation to toughen up penalties for protestors.

The upper house sat until after midnight as the Greens tried to delay the laws.

“I’m going to run the ball up once again to get this legislation through.”
