Right-wing group launched to fight Get Up’s $100m war chest

The head of a new conservative political support group admits it’s a huge task taking on the likes of Get Up.

Advance Australia launched last week, an independent movement aimed at defending mainstream Australian values and freedoms.

It’s biggest task is combatting left-wing activist group GetUp!, which claims to have more than a million members.

The organisation has become so large it’s often credited with winning elections for the Labor Party and delivering successful political correctness campaigns.

One week since the launch of Advance Australia, the organisation already has 11,000 members.

National Director Gerard Benedet tells Alan Jones they’re going to need many more to have an impact.

“We’re funded by everyday Australians.

“Up against $100 million of year on year expenditure from left-wing groups, it’s a huge task ahead of us.”
