Repairs underway for over 170 NSW schools impacted by bushfires
The state government has started repairs at over 170 schools across NSW that have been ravaged by bushfires as it prepares for the first day of term.
The $20 million recovery work is underway to fix lost fences, burnt play equipment and contamination from ash and fire retardant in the extended fire season.
NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell tells Luke Grant repairs are underway.
“It’s a big job but it’s underway and on track to get our kids back, as per normal, to start the school year.”
