EXCLUSIVE | RBB leader and Wanderers contractor banned from stadiums

Article image for EXCLUSIVE | RBB leader and Wanderers contractor banned from stadiums

The leader of the Western Sydney Wanderers’ supporter group has been banned from Sydney Olympic Park for 12 months.

One of the club’s contracted crowd liaison officers has also been banned from the venues, after an incident at Saturday night’s A-League match.

The head of the Red and Black Bloc was leading an offensive chant – “f*** the FFA” – when police stepped in.

Ray Hadley has been told the liaison officer tried to stop police from removing the RBB leader and was also taken away.

NSW Police have confirmed the incident in a statement:

“Police have issued banning notices to a man and woman following incidents at an A-League match on the weekend.

The action taken surrounds a series of offensive chants which occurred towards the end of the game at Spotless Stadium on Saturday night.

The Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) banning notice prohibits attendance at the event venue and/or any other event venue in the Olympic Park precinct for a period of up to 12 months.”

The Western Sydney Wanderers have responded to Ray’s allegations with this statement:

“We are looking into the precinct bans issued to two individuals including a supporter liaison officer which occurred during the post-match egress at Spotless Stadium on Saturday night.

“All security personnel including the supporter liaison officers are externally contracted as part of the Minimum Security Standards overlay for all match days.”
