Ray Hadley pays tribute to ‘voice of rugby league’ Frank Hyde

Ray Hadley has paid tribute to “the voice of rugby league”, his late friend and colleague Frank Hyde.

The legendary NRL player, coach and radio caller died in 2007. He called 33 NRL grand finals over his career.

Ray reflected on his fondest memories of Frank on The Ray Hadley Morning Show today after running into his kids at his local shopping centre yesterday.

He says the photo of him and Frank at the Rothmans Medal in 1989 is one of his “most treasured possessions”.

“I reflect on the fact I was able to work with a man who was, in fact, the voice of rugby league for 31 years.

“He would talk to me about my ambitions, he’d share his life and how he got to call rugby league.”
