The second trial of the man accused of sexually assaulting Brittany Higgins at Parliament House has been abandoned.

The ACT Director of Public Prosecutions Shane Drumgold said the decision was made following advice that a second trial could pose an “unacceptable risk” to Ms Higgins’ mental health.

John-Paul Cashen is a media lawyer and partner at Thomson Geer Lawyers, he joined Joe Hildebrand to share his thoughts on the issue.
