There is a chance of showers on the last day of 2018, but they’re expected to clear in time for tonights the world-famous fireworks display.

More than a million people will gather around the Sydney Harbour foreshore for the spectacle.

Clouds will continue to hang around the city into the evening, but is expected to clear before midnight.

Weather Bureau forecaster Anita Pyne says it will also be warm with a minimum temperature of 22°C.
