A racist attack occurred off the Brisbane River on Tuesday night, when a man in his 60s abused a group of fishermen, hitting them with crutches and shouting racial slurs.

The victims had no idea why they were being targeted, and one victim, Job Prasong, tried to de-escalate the situation.

Queensland Police have fined the man $400 for public nuisance.

“He’s a racist pig,” said Ben.
