South Sydney Rabbitohs coach Jason Demetriou has called for lifetime bans on those involved in racism at NRL games after an alleged incident of racial abuse against Latrell Mitchell on Thursday night.

The abuse allegedly happened during Penrith Panthers 16-10 win against the Rabbitohs at BlueBet Stadium.

Mitchell was allegedly verbally abused by a teenage Panthers fan who was then removed from the venue. The Penrith Panthers issued a statement, saying that they were aware the incident and immediately informed the NRL about the matter.

John Stanley echoed the call from Demetriou, saying “kick them out, they can’t come to games again”.
