‘Quite sad’ – Timber expert on the threats facing the industry
The president of the Australian Forest Products Association has questioned the importation of hardwood from countries such as Indonesia.
Steve Dadd has told Mark Levy that the timber industry is the backbone of so many regional communities, but it’s under threat.
“It’s really quite sad that we are importing a lot of timber from countries with less forests than us and much worse environmental standards,” he said.
