Public transport system ‘holding up’ amid weather warnings

Ben Fordham

NSW Transport Minister David Elliott says commuters should feel confident on their ride into work today despite weather warnings.

Heavy rain, thunderstorms and destructive winds are forecast to hit Sydney as the east coast low moves along the coast.

Communities in Richmond and the Nepean are on high alert, just shy of a year since thousands were evacuated in the city’s worst floods in 60 years.

Minister David Elliott told Ben Fordham there are delays on the Blue Mountains train line.

“The ferry services out of Manly have been dropped to 40 minutes instead of the usual 20-minute service.”
