Protests erupt in China as COVID-zero policy reaches breaking point

Thousands of people have stormed the streets in China, angry over the government’s Covid-zero policy.

It’s believed harsh restrictions could be to blame for the deaths of 10 people, who were unable to escape their burning apartment block.

North Asia correspondent for The Sydney Morning Herald Eryk Bagshaw joined Joe Hildebrand to explain what the protests mean for Chinese leader President Xi.
