Prison officers have walked off the job across New South Wales, prompting an urgent hearing in the Industrial Relations Commission.

Workers are angry over a sentence where a man who bashed four officers in Cessnock didn’t receive any additional jail time.

The Corrective Services Commissioner is seeking a review of a decision on the man’s parole, and the government says prosecutors are considering appealing the sentence.
