Prime Minister wins court case to parachute in his candidates
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has won a crucial court case letting him handpick his favourite Liberal candidates.
The decision will now pave the way for the PM to call an election imminently.
The NSW Court of Appeal ruled today, that the party’s federal executive did have the power to over-ride local members and install the Prime Minister’s preferred candidates.
Under NSW Liberal Party rules, election candidates are supposed to be chosen with a vote by local branch members.
2GB Federal Politics Editor Michael Pachi told Luke Grant the PM is yet to decide when to call an election.
“The expectation is that he will do it later in the week.”
