AGL Energy is lifting gas prices by 8.8 per cent, or $73 annually.

Origin is raising its prices by 14 per cent on average from July 1.

Joel Gibson from One Big Switch told Joe Hildebrand customers should continuously look at changing energy companies.

“You can still get deals that are below the government reference price.”
