Yesterday was the original day the cruise industry was hoping the ban would be lifted in Australia.

However, last week the cruise ban was extended until the 17th of April.

With international borders now open, Anthony Dennis from Traveller.com.au told Deborah Knight “It’s getting a bit silly”.

“International borders have finally been flung open to international tourists, and yet you actually don’t have one of the most important segments of the tourism industry open.

“Cruising, in particular, is being held back.

“If you’re going to open up to tourism … open everything up and show some courage.”
