Premier ‘relieved’ strike is off

Article image for Premier ‘relieved’ strike is off

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says she’s relieved commuters will be able to go about their business next week following the Fair Work Commission’s decision to suspend Monday’s strike.

Ms Berejiklian says the government has asked all parties to put commuters first.

“I’m relieved the public doesn’t have to be disrupted next week.

“I’m relieved people can have their kids go back to school and get about their business.”

The Premier says union members now have an opportunity to consider the agreement put forward.

“Workers are entitled to have the opportunity to read what’s on the table in terms of the agreement moving forward. Unfortunately, that hasn’t yet happened.

“At the end of the day… it’s between management and the unions.”
