The Premier is encouraging people to use the government’s energy savings scheme, but admits she’s been “too busy” to do it herself.

The Energy Switch program compares the best plans from all providers and helps customers switch to a cheaper deal.

Gladys Berejiklian has been spruiking the Service NSW system, saying it takes “less than a minute” and can save households hundreds of dollars.

But the Premier admits she hasn’t actually used the system herself.

“To be honest, I’ve been too busy to apply for it.

“But my message to everybody is, ‘do it!’, make sure you have the best deal available.

“On average, families are saving $400… whether you’re in the city or the bush.

“It’s simple, online, takes you less than a minute.”
