A federal Minister insists the government won’t be acting politically when dealing with the Greens on energy policy.

The Greens are pushing for a halt to coal and gas production.

Labor has already pledged to strengthen environmental protection laws but is unlikely to agree to the Greens’ demands.

Industry and Science Minister Ed Husic told Deborah Knight “we’ve got to be practical and not political”.

“At a price that’s not putting pressure on industry and jobs.”
