Port Botany refuses to kowtow to union’s ‘jobs for mates’ demands

Patrick Terminals is refusing to kowtow to the union’s demands amid ongoing strike action.

The union is seeking to replicate a deal struck with Hutchison Ports where up to 70 per cent of new hires will be sourced from employees’ families and friends.

Patrick Terminals CEO Michael Jovicic told Ben Fordham they won’t be agreeing.

“I cannot accept that the union will tell me who I can and cannot hire. That will not be happening.”
