A man has been charged after he allegedly kicked a policewoman in the face as she was trying to arrest him in Sydney’s north-west.

At 8:15pm on Sunday, police were called to Boomerang Drive at Glossodia to investigate a driving complaint.

After speaking with witnesses, they approached a 37-year-old man in a home on Mitchell Drive.

He allegedly became very aggressive when police tried to arrest him, kicking a female constable in the face.

The officers managed to arrest him and took him to Hawkesbury Police Station, where he was hit with a number of charges including assaulting a police officer and driving under the influence of alcohol.

The policewoman was taken to Hawkesbury Hospital, where she received treatment for her jaw and has since returned home.

The 37-year-old man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Windsor Local Court on 27 June.
