Police have released CCTV footage as they investigate a spate of armed break-ins across Sydney’s south-west.

On February 22 this year, a 33-year-old man was contacted via an online marketplace by a man wanting to sell a new laptop.

The men agreed to meet at an apartment on Dudley Street at Punchbowl.

That evening, two men allegedly held the 33-year-old man against his will, threatened him with a knife, and stole cash and his car keys.

A 39-year-old man has been charged over his role in the alleged crime but the other man has remained on the run.

Investigators have now released CCTV vision of the man, described as Middle Eastern in appearance, with a solid build and a black beard.

Officers are also investigating three aggravated break and enters where more than 200 pieces of furniture were stolen from basement storage spaces in a unit complex on Willis Street at Wolli Creek.
