New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon has given a partial green light to Australia Day protests.

People will be allowed to gather in parts of the city, with protests not allowed in designated parts of the city stretching from Pyrmont through to Bondi Junction.

A police spokesperson says police will issue move on directions for individuals causing disruptions.

“Or behaving in an intimidating or harassing manner, or people who might cause or be likely to cause fear in another person,” they said.
