Why staying active is so important for our heart health

Those with certain heart conditions have been told not to exercise for fear of putting their heart under too much strain.

That was what they were told, but researchers are now looking to flip the advice on its head and see whether regular exercise could improve the life expectancy of people born with half a heart or born with what is known as Fontan-Chd.

John Stanley is joined by Dr Derek Tran, a senior exercise physiologist and the coordinator behind this world-first trial.
