Volunteers helping save aquatic life after the floods

Volunteers are rescuing aquatic animals from the Murray River as heavy rain in the country’s east causes havoc.

Severe flooding has triggered a large-scale hypoxic ‘black water’ event, starving waterways of oxygen.

Rural reporter Rhiannon Soliman-Marron caught up with Braeden Lampard from OzFish Unlimited, who has been working with volunteers in Victoria’s north-west to rescue suffocating crayfish from the river.
