Toyota’s RAV4 SUV our No. 1 selling vehicle in July

Motor Torque

Official V-Facts car sales figures for July showed a sales decrease of 10,679 vehicles sales on July 2019, down 12.8 per cent. Toyota RAV 4 SUV was the top-seller in July, aided by huge demand for its hybrid variants, RAV 4 sales up a staggering 71 percent on the same month last year – customers quickly responding to Toyota’s excellent hybrid technology. It will be interesting to see how buyers respond to the arrival of the new Land Cruiser 300 4WD next year – with a number of different engine choices available– first up a V6 diesel, then a twin-turbo 3.5 litre V6 petrol with a petrol hybrid to follow. I recently tested the V8 diesel Land Cruiser 200 series Sahara and it felt rather dated and showing its age, overpriced too at $124,000 – the current Toyota Prado Kakadu 4WD a much better proposition and well priced.
