This weekend is probably the best time to save thousands on a new set of wheels – June and the end of the financial year, is traditionally our biggest sales month, more so this year as dealers try to make up for poor sales in April and May. A quick check around dealer land this week showed up some very strong segments particularly the luxury sector, Porsche having a very strong month, like most luxury imports, however supply will make Juiy and August difficult with the March factory closures reflecting in no imports for those two months. Used cars also selling well however a lack of trade-ins a few months back has meant used cars are thin on the ground. Whilst there are some exceptional deals keep in mind with slow sales for the last 18 months a lot of stock is 2019 build, in fact there’s still some 2018 build around – one year’s depreciation can mean what looks like a bargain is really the cars true value.
