The Australian Open under threat

Michael is joined by Craig Gabriel, Nine Radio’s Tennis Correspondent, regarding the announcement that unvaccinated tennis players are unlikely to be allowed at the Australian Open.

 

Immigration Minister Alex Hawke has said that everyone who comes to Australia will have to be double-vaccinated, but world’s number one player, Novak Djokovic, is refusing to say if he has been vaccinated saying the status of his vaccination is a “private matter” and an “inappropriate inquiry”.

 

The policy will potentially block not just Novak Djokovic – but dozens of men’s and women’s stars.
