Statistics show youth driver education essential

Mike Jeffreys

Mike is joined by Ian Luff, a motoring expert and Principal of Drive-to-Survive about the need for youth driving education following new findings revealing young drivers who utilise the family car are less prone to accidents compared to those who have their own vehicle.

A comprehensive study of young drivers in NSW indicates that those who drive their own cars face a 30% higher crash risk in their first year.

Even after seven years, these drivers still carry a 10% greater risk of crashing than those who borrow the family car, as per the research.
