Skoda’s surprising 140TSI Octavia Limited Edition sedan
In a world where SUV’s are the order of the day along comes a sedan that blows your socks off. Skoda recently added a 140kW model to its Octavia range, the 140TSi Limited Edition at 51,490 drive-away joining 110kW Ambition and Style grades launched earlier last year.
While the entry Octavia 110TSI Ambition sedan kicks off at $37,490 drive-away the new 140TSI Limited Edition takes the Czech sedan into premium territory. A 2.0-litre turbo 140kW seven-speed dual clutch automatic with three drive modes in a stylish yet subtle five door body that opens to a sumptuous interior with ErgoComfort leather seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions, a fabulous head up display, 10 airbags and even an iPad holder for rear seat passengers.
Complimented with a superbly laid out dash and a new 10-inch infotainment screen. As I’ve recently commented regarding other touch screens the volume control knob has been replaced by a slider control which is simply not user friendly and takes your eyes off the road. So too the climate control function, now with touch buttons that are simply distractive.
The stop/start function for example is also now buried in the infotainment screen menu. These points aside you get a distinct feel in this 140 TSI Octavia Limited Edition that it is batting in a much dearer segment – drive impressions next.
