The contribution of women to Australian agriculture is recognised each year with the RIRDC Rural Woman of the Year.

State winners are starting to be named, with Sunshine Coast entrepreneur Jacqui Wilson-Smith winning the award in Queensland.

In Victoria, Kirsten Abernethy received the award for her work in the state’s seafood industry.
